We are dedicated to transforming the educational landscape in our country. We believe that every child deserves access to quality education that nurtures not only their academic skills but also their character and values. Recently, we embarked on an inspiring initiative at Mavoko Junior School that exemplifies this mission: providing Bibles to our learners.  

Understanding the importance of Christian Religious Education (CRE) in our curriculum, our dedicated fellow, Walter Tito, recognized that access to scripture could significantly enhance the student’s learning experience. Growing up in a Christian family, Walter was deeply influenced by the teachings of the Bible and believed that these lessons could play a vital role in shaping the character of our young learners.

Walter took the initiative to draft a proposal to the Christian Education Ministry, emphasizing the need for students to have their Bibles. He highlighted how this resource could foster spiritual growth, moral development, and community among the students.

To our delight, the ministry welcomed Walter’s proposal and arranged a visit to Mavoko Junior School. During this visit, they engaged meaningfully with our students, discussing the impact of scripture on their lives and distributing over 600 Bibles. This event provided vital resources and created an atmosphere of excitement and curiosity within our school community.

The ripple effects of this initiative have been remarkable. Students are now exploring their Bibles, engaging with the teachings, and applying the lessons learned daily. This experience is not just about education; it’s about nurturing values such as integrity, compassion, and resilience—core beliefs that align with our mission at Teach For Kenya.

As an organization, we believe in the power of education to change lives. By equipping our students with academic knowledge and spiritual guidance, we are laying the foundation for them to become leaders who will uplift their communities. The enthusiasm we see in our classrooms as students embrace their faith and education is a testament to the positive change we strive to achieve.
