Teach For Kenya champions a multidisciplinary approach to education reform. We view Teaching as Collective Leadership and students as the promise of a brighter future for all Kenyans.

Who We Are

Teach For Kenya is an NGO registered under the NGO Act. We exist to champion sustainable development goal 4 on Quality Education. Our service is to Kenyan children. We operate on the philosophy that leadership can be used as a tool to eliminate the barriers that prevent Kenyan children from unlocking their full potential.

Our Why

Numerous barriers prevent children from unlocking their full potential. In Kenya, more than 1 Million children of school-going age lack access to quality education and are faced with countless obstacles such as socioeconomic, cultural, and systemic barriers. Despite the numerous interventions that have been put in place, we believe that there is still more that can be done to bridge the inequality gaps that plague our education system.

Our Approach

To transform the systems that are holding children back from reaching their potential, we are building a movement of committed outstanding local leaders pioneering solutions and working together at all levels — in schools, in government, and in communities. Our two-year paid fellowship program places high-potential graduates from Kenyan universities as teaching fellows in our country’s most high-need schools.
