Yukabeth is passionate about building a movement of ethical leaders to drive reforms in Kenya’s education ecosystem. She taught in Honduras, Central America after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Strathmore University before coming back to her home country to work in Education. She has worked for the African Leadership Group, Metis and Microsoft in Education where she led a project to build capacity for 12,000 teachers across Kenya under the Presidential Digital Talent Program.

Prof. Nyokabi Kamau
BOARD MEMBER, Teach For Kenya
Nyokabi is a Social Worker and Sociologist specializing in gender studies. She is an Associate Professor in gender studies and currently serves as the Director of the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST). Nyokabi holds a PhD and a Masters in gender studies both from the University of London – Institute of Education, an MA in Sociology and a BA in Social Work from the University of Nairobi. She has published widely in books, book chapters, local and international journals, professional newsletters and has presented papers in various local and international conferences.

Peter is a science teacher and Franciscan Brother who gives away 80% of his monthly income to help the poor. His dedication, hard work and passionate belief in his student’s talent has led his poorly-resourced school in remote rural Kenya to emerge victorious after taking on the country’s best schools in national science competitions. In 2019 he was awarded the Global Teacher Prize He embodies the teaching and learning practices we aim to champion at TFK and is passionate about empowering the youth through education.

Pat is an experienced business owner with a demonstrated history of working in Advertising and Marketing. She is skilled in Advertising, Branding & Corporate Identity, and Corporate Event Logistics. She is a strong entrepreneurship professional who graduated from Babson College and is the author of A Candid Handbook for Women Doing Business in Kenya.
She is the founder of Kayana, a premier women’s accelerator based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Kennedy is an internationally recognized social entrepreneur, a New York Times best selling author, and cofounder of Shining Hope for Communities(SHOFCO), a non-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya and New York, NY that combats urban poverty and gender inequity in the slums of Nairobi. Kennedy is one of Africa’s best- known community organizers and social entrepreneurs.
